Surfing Workouts and Surfing Exercises are the only way to keep in shape when there is no swell around. As surfers we love when hurricanes, typhoons, low pressure systems and even strong winds arrive as we anticipate swell arriving to our local scene, yet if we have not been looking after our surfing fitness we often cannot make the most of a great day when a good swell arrives like in the video below.
I like this video below because you understand that those surfers who have invested in surfing workouts in between surfing days or when waiting for swell to arrive will have improved surfing fitness that will always help them catch more waves and surf with power and grace. The surfers that have looked after their bodies with surfing exercises during flat spells are the ones who benefit most in the water.
Another reason I like this video is that it shows normal (not professional) surfers that get caught on the inside, take waves on the head, fall off due to poor execution or balance and really shows that with surfing workouts surfers can always improve. This is one of the classic days we all hope for, a hurricane swings past the coast, it cleans up and we catch great swell. Check the video.
