Surf Training is creating surfing athletes. Check the speed, power, flexibility and skills of the surfing athletes in this video. Surfing culture has always been about connecting with our environment and training in the ocean to improve as a surfer. These days how ever, surf training is a necessary part of the constant and never ending push to go bigger and faster than ever before.
Professional surfers are apart of our evolving surfing culture and as they push their surfing skills to the limit they realize that surfing fitness training, nutrition and injury prevention are a huge part of being an athlete. While the pro’s may have a support team to help them I encourage you to also look after your own surf training and fitness and work with someone who can help you take your own surfing to the next level.
By having a surf coach and trainer on your team you will quickly improve in strength and recovery times while also benefiting from picking up new skills faster. Have a look in the video and ask yourself – how did these surfers get so good? Who helped them? Did they do it all on their own?
So this video is from 2010, pretty damn impressive if you ask me, and if makes me wonder what is in store for the rest of 2011 and what new surprises we will see from the surfers leading the way on the professional circuit. I know for sure that as our surfing culture grows along with surfing workouts, specific surfing fitness and surf training experts on hand, we ain’t seen nothing yet.
