HEY! This is a quick post about developing your surfers body by NOT pushing it so hard with every surfing workout.
So many coaches and athletes over push themselves during surfing workouts and think that by constantly surf training they will improve their performance. Nothing is further from the truth. I have found that by incorporating such things as yoga, active and passive stretching, breathing modalities from the east and active rest into surfing workouts that professional athletes and novices alike can benefit from improved energy and physical function.

Always remember that rest and recovery are as important as the actual surfing and the surfing training. If you are constantly performing surfing workouts without giving yourself adequate time for rest then the more often than not performance over the long term often goes south!
