Great Exercises for Surfing always encompass full body movements and challenge your body in all planes of motion. Some call this functional training, I call it athletic training and it has been apart of my surf training since I was a gymnast.
Here in this video Jaime Sterling demonstrates how kettle bells can be used as exercises for surfing to improve core, balance and surfers strength. He rightly points out that you don’t need a gym just some basic equipment a great trainer to get your ultimate surf body.
If you think surf training is only for the pro’s and big wave riders think again because the foundation of your surfing is your body. If your body is not conditioned correctly then over time you can only slow down, bend or break. Good exercises for surfing will have you catching more waves and surfing with more power and energy each time you hit the water.
Dumb bells can also be used for many of the exercises demonstrated here, kettle bells however are a great tool for some surfing workout and training exercises. Remember that your surf training is only as good as the exercises that you choose to do so whenever you surf train or intend to have a surfing workout choose wisely before you start your exercises for surfing
