There is a lot of good content in this video that can be applied when your in the water training for surfing and pulling off smooth, powerful and fast maneuvers. Taj’s advice combined with some specific exercises for surfing will help to boost surfing performance.
I recommend Exercises for Surfing that improve co-ordination, timing and landings. Other surfing exercises that also improve speed and rotation will also help a lot to improving aerial surfing. Another good idea is to add into your surfing workouts is skateboarding and snowboarding. Both have aerial elements that can be used as additional tools for great a surfers workout.
Understanding the biomechanics of the human body can also help a lot to understand the physics behind boosting, spinning and landing any air while surfing. This is another good reason to include specific exercises for surfing into your weekly surfing workouts. Always remember however that time in the water working on speed, timing, feet positioning and landings is also a must. Practice, practice practice.
